Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 6+ Years of experience in performing Business Analysis in the context of on boarding to a new technology platform.
Advanced degree nice to have, but not necessary.
Nature and Scope:
Develops, maintains and implements a thorough business and technical knowledge in the assigned line of business. Assists with test plans and testing as required by other departments, performs system evaluations, new product testing and implementation, and data mapping and validation for conversions. Subject matter expert on current system features and functions advises and trains others to build staff skill sets. Perform first line functional support for Bank Loan conversions.
Key responsibilities:
Perform first line functional support for Bank Loan conversion onto the Middle Office platforms. To this end, will need strong knowledge of Bank Loans, including but not limited to Payments, Reporting tools and Work Flows.
Understand various Loan servicing processes like CLO’s, Draw downs, Rollovers, Repayments and Pre-payments, Unfunded loan workflows.
Work on multiple Middle Office systems like recordkeeping system, data warehouse, and transaction management.
Work with Bank Loan department and IT to prioritize issues.
Key participant in solution upgrades (project planning, testing etc.)
Create/Maintain support documentation for the client and internal support teams.
Responsible for determining how changing business needs will affect the system and client.
Analyze current processes, identify gaps in workflows, research system defects and inefficiencies, and recommend and create new solutions to fill these gaps by leveraging Bank Loan Business knowledge.
Analyze functional requirements and facilitate the delivery of a solution.
Utilize domain knowledge and understanding of enabling technologies to deliver business solutions and assist business unit with development of business cases outlining the current problems /opportunities, risks and potential benefits relating to implementation of solutions.
Liaise with other departments to have client accounts set up / configured on multiple Middle Office systems.
Coordinate with Loan Services to test data is loaded and successfully processed across multiple systems.
Work with Loan Services to have test accounts and test data setup in WSO and sent to downstream systems.
Verify that bank loan transaction have been received and processed correctly in recordkeeping system and data ware house.
Troubleshoot and resolve processing errors.
Ensure that client’s historical transactions are processed downstream and monitor parallel processing to confirm there are no issues.
Quickly reconcile positions and transactions from the data warehouse vs. position and trade reports from WSO.
Work with other departments to have new brokers and bank loan security IDs setup across different systems.
Run queries on an ad-hoc basis in the data warehouse and recordkeeping system to confirm position and transaction status.
Manage the post-conversion handoff to operations after client go-live.
Competency:
Ability to understand the roles and functions of Bank Loans Team, Transaction Management, Recordkeeping, and Data warehouse.
Ability to interpret business requirements to create clear and concise functional documents for enhancements to the system that can be understood by not only the business analyst team, but also the development team, quality assurance team, service delivery team and the end users.
Expertise in setting up new operations from scratch, Planning, execution, managing and controlling the project and also exceeding the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
Participate in the deployment of new solutions or features and functionality modules of existing systems.
Participate in the review process of Op Models and trade flows in order to ensure current in scope systems meet client requirements, escalate any concerns. Transition management experience is desirable.
Hands on experience on any of the financial tools and UAT analysis would be preferred.
Project Management and Process mapping skills.
Demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, understand and/or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups), and PowerPoint.
Good “soft skills” – the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence outcomes to drive tasks and projects to completion.
A proactive mindset
A good understanding of Middle Office services, including Bank Loans, Transaction Management, Reference Data, Recordkeeping, Data Warehouses and how they work together.
Understanding of concepts like transactions, valuations, and static data.
Experience with SQL queries (“select *” statements), etc.
